Barclays (NYSE:BCS) announced today it will be selling its entire stake in BlackRock (NYSE:BLK), a 19.6% stake in the company worth $6.1 billion. The shares of BlackRock will be sold by way of an offering and a related buyback by BlackRock of up to $1 billion of the stock. Barclays held the stake for almost three years in a cash and share deal with BlackRock, where BlackRock purchased Barclays Global Investors for $13.5 billion. Barclays Capital, Morgan Stanley and Bank of America Merrill Lynch are joint bookrunners for the offer. Barclays did not say what it would do with the cash. Currently, Barclays is trading up over 2% to $11.39 while BlackRock is trading down over 1% to $169.73….
