Ifc in haiti: private industry benefits thousands of private lives
IFC, a member of the World Bank Group, is working with the Haitian government to create a national framework for Integrated Economic Zones. The new zones will provide desperately needed jobs to tens of thousands of Haitians in various industry sectors over the next five years. An example of how such industries can help is seen here at Codevi, a garment manufacturing factory in Haiti’s northeast which is giving hope and salaries to more than 6500 people and their families.
